StarWhisper is developed by AAAI Studio LLC ("we", "our", "us"). We are committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what data we collect and how we use it.
Audio recordings: Encrypted with AES-256-GCM on your device before upload. We cannot decrypt or listen to your whispers. Encryption keys are stored in your device's Secure Enclave/Keychain and never transmitted.
Transcription: Performed entirely on-device using Apple's Speech framework with requiresOnDeviceRecognition = true. Transcription text never leaves your phone.
Sentiment metadata: A simple light/neutral/heavy classification computed on-device. Used for weekly summaries and firefly matching.
Anonymous identity: Firebase Anonymous Authentication. No email, phone number, or name is collected.
If you opt into the social layer, an anonymized, NER-stripped version of your whisper's transcription may be stored server-side for content moderation. Audio shared via fireflies is moderated for safety but never linked to your identity.
You can delete all your data at any time from Settings → Delete All My Data. This permanently removes all whispers, audio files, profile data, and your anonymous account.
StarWhisper is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date.
